A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Workshop
So I’ve got a funny story for you. Last Friday, I sent a notice saying that registration for my Saturday workshop closed at 6 PM that day and I checked that evening to make sure I didn’t have anyone register. I just figured I had a Saturday off.
The doorbell rings Saturday morning and I am just sitting in bed doing some writing. Second time it rings, I go down to answer assuming it’s some solicitation. Get this mental picture: I’m wearing my pink pajama pants with the big flowers on them, my blue Disney nightgown and threw on top my gray & black striped sweater. Also bed head. Opening the door I face a strange woman who wiggles her fingers in a small wave and says “hi, I’m here for the workshop!” I am mortified!
I explain to her what happened and invite her in. I give her tea while I run upstairs and throw on some clothes. I thought I might paint with her for an hour or two and give her a refund anyhow. But we end up painting, my husband makes us lunch and she spent the day, so there was her workshop. Pretty funny, huh?
She turned out to be very nice and came to give candy to kids at our house for Halloween. (We needed all the help we could get- we gave out about 1200 pieces of candy!) Another satisfied client-who made this great monster.
My new monster is not quite done so not ready for publication. But I would like to share with you a bit of what I’ve been working on.
I also have a new Facebook LIVE video that you can see HERE
at my youtube channel where I unveil a new way to make prints that I developed myself.
If you want to be the first to know what’s happening, please subscribe to my mailing list- the 2nd thing on the column at right.
Also, if you are in NY, I have 3 large paintings being shown in the new offices of Assemblyperson Rodneyse Bichotte. They are having a reception Wednesday, November 15, 12noon-8PM. Come see “Elephant Vision” in person!
