Warm Breezes of Mexico
As time passes, this new normal of being in and being at home is starting to sink in. For me, there is a softness, a rounding of time. Like it has lost its edginess. In some ways it is easy to slip into this gentle time. It’s almost as if there wasn’t a time before. Have you been feeling any of that too?
However, right before this all happened, I had an edgy trip to Mexico. I spent a week in a workshop at Casa de los Artists in Boca de Tomatlan. Taught by Robert Burridge, it was a week of inspiration, friendship, homey food and a bit of roughing it, starting and ending each day with a short hike along the river.
After the workshop, we spent 2 weeks on the beach in Puerta Vallarta. It’s a colorful city, filled with great restaurants and live entertainment (you remember those, right?) Below you can see some impressions from the trip and two of my series begun there.
It’s been taking me a while to get back into the swing of things. One thing I miss is painting with other people. So I thought I’d invite some friends to have an artistic hangout with me. Please join me this coming Friday, May 1, 1PM EDT! We’ll catch up some, paint some & BYOB. Just click HERE to let me know you’re coming! I’ll get you the Zoom Room link and a list of what supplies you’ll need.
I can’t wait to see you!
Sending love and light,
