It was a disturbing time with war and unrest in Syria, Israel and the Ukraine. This painting evokes my emotional responses to this time. I used transferred images of the eyes of people in these parts of the world from newspapers as a base layer. While the transfers were somewhat obliterated, I was sensitized to the plights of the victims of war throughout the world. This was the underlying milieu through which this painting was made.
